"The least rowdy modern seaside town in Cornwall. A counterpart to Devon's Sidmouth" said the late Sir John Betjeman. He also went on to say "A prevalence of grassy down and sandy bays and a river and a canal finding separate outlets to the sea." Today, it is still one of the "nicer" resorts and popular venue for all ages.
